Ruben’s multi-disciplinary background in design and fine arts has allowed him to become an integral part of the OKW family. He studied at Brown University, before graduating from Rhode Island School of Design with a Masters of Architecture. His desire to grow as a designer led him away from the warm shores of his native island of Puerto Rico to work for architecture firms around the world; including stops in Boston, Paris, and most recently, Chicago. This bilingual globetrotter has worked on all phases of construction on a wide range of projects; mainly focusing on urban design, energy sustainability, and graphic communications. Due to his interest in the relationships between people and architecture, he has been engaged in helping clients visualize their buildings; either through hand-crafted sketches, 3D renderings, graphic presentations or physical models.
