Mark brings over 23 years of design and construction experience to OKW, developing a wide variety of commercial and residential projects. With an Architecture degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a licensed architect in the state of Illinois, Mark is proficient in managing all aspects of project phases. In 2008, he was awarded the AIA Chicago Design Excellence Award, Citation of Merit for un-built project “Bodo Kommune.” Currently, Mark continues to lead work for a local financial institution.Born and raised in a small Midwestern town, Mark’s visit to Chicago at the age of 17 was the defining moment of realization that he wanted to be an architect; he’s been a city dweller ever since. Most of Mark’s time outside of OKW is spent enjoying time at neighborhood parks, restaurants, and street festivals with his wife, Michelle, and daughter, Nora. Occasionally Mark still makes time to continue his musical pursuits, as the drummer of local band Bric-a-Brac, or Gypsy Jazz group, The Uptown Strings.
