Casey has qualified experience in preparing drawings for bid, permit and construction documents for industrial warehouses and commercial buildings in the Chicago area. While completing his Master's degree, Casey co-founded the Center for Sustainable Cities Design Studio in Lexington, KY, with his professor and mentor, Richard S. Levine. His work there focused on net-zero energy, sustainability-driven, environmentally conscious single-family residential projects, energy efficient retrofits and remodels, and sustainability research at the city-region scale. He managed projects from initial client meetings, to schematic design charettes, on through to contract administration and construction documents. At the CSC Design Studio, he was responsible for the ad material and presentation boards, and played a major role in building the firm's first website. He also helped write grants and present research on sustainability issues at conferences in the United States and in China.
