With a diverse background in Interior architecture, science, and product design & management, Yong has a unique blend of design and business perspectives. During her time at Northwestern University, she studied the blend between creative and analytic fields - such as design strategy and research. Prior to OKW, Yong worked at several Chicago architectural firms including Gensler, Skidmore Owings and Merrill (SOM), HOK and VOA (now Stantec), where she gained diverse experience in interiors, architecture, and workplace strategy. Yong is a registered Interior designer and LEED accredited professional.
Outside of work, she enjoys biking with her family, building Legos with her son, creating art projects with her daughter, and exploring new places and foods. “Experience” is her favorite word, and she is always open to creating new experiences for herself and others through the power of design.
