It began with a sketch in 2005. 1.1 million square feet later, NEWCITY is part of a thriving and dynamic neighborhood with opportunity, character, and entertainment. When it opened, NEWCITY housed the largest Mariano’s in Chicago, Earls Kitchen + Bar, Arclight Cinema, Kings Bowling, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Z gallerie, a broad range of smaller retailers, and 250 units of luxury residential.

The Residences at NEWCITY were developed to complement the energy of the overall development and create a relaxing home. Residents can engage in the energy and resources of the plaza, but also have a comfortable retreat above the activity below. With a warm palette of materials and intimate layouts, the shared spaces of the tower establish a distinct home within a bustling 7-acre mixed-use complex.

Serving as architect and land planner, OKW guided the site planning, building and interior design and landscape design of the project. The NEWCITY residential tower has received LEED Gold certification. In addition, the 360,000 SF of commercial retail core and shell space has been awarded LEED Silver certification.
