Anders attended DAAP at the University of Cincinnati for his bachelors degree before moving to Chicago to complete his masters at Illinois Institute of Technology, now a licensed Architect. He is a member of the Associate Board for ACE Mentor Chicago, a terrific volunteer program that mentors high school students who are interested in the ACE industry. Anders also taught a sketching/observation class while in graduate school and has a continuing passion for education and mentorship. He has a talent for organization and coordination, which really comes in handy with everything we do as Architects. Anders additionally has experience with project delivery, including set design, document control, construction detailing and construction administration. He considers himself a yes-man (life is too short to say no), and loves volunteering for causes like Rebuilding Together, CANstruction, Design4Dignity, and others.
Growing up in the suburbs of Cincinnati, Anders fell in love with Chicago while visiting 10 years ago and knew he would end up moving here. He loves to go out to the lake and river, riding divvy bikes, finding a great new rooftop view, and trying out a new (whiskey) cocktail. He also landlords with his partner Patrick, we own a 3-unit building and live in 1 of the units but we hope to move next year and convert it to a full rental property. They are constantly working on improving the property (re-doing kitchens, painting, re-did the backyard patio, replaced all the windows, replaced the lights and ceiling fans, etc.) He also always has his goofy and anxious corgi, Barney close by. Patrick and I rarely have a free weekend with traveling, people visiting, and working on the house, but we love a good lazy-Sunday.
