Anders Rustin has been named a Partner of OKW!

The story of OKW is that of evolving change. Since our founding in 1999, our firm and the practice of architecture have gone through major changes.

This month, we’re honored to add a new chapter to that story.

Anders Rustin AIA started at OKW in 2018 and quickly demonstrated his knack for thinking big, clearly communicating his ideas, delivering on projects, and advocating for people. A few years later, he became the leader of OKW’s Sustainability Action Group and then originated the role of the firm’s first Director of Strategy in 2024.

The partnership saw in him the qualities necessary to help steer OKW into the future and as of this month, named him the newest Partner in the firm’s ongoing story.

In this role, he will continue to use his visionary planning and strategic mind to help steer OKW into the future. In addition to his technical abilities as an architect, he has honed his mentorship and communications skills as a professor of architecture at Harold Washington College and has passionately advocated for the profession of architecture through his decade-plus experience with ACE Mentor Chicago.

His work at OKW, as well as his skills outside the office, paint a picture of someone who takes the industry and its professionals to heart. He’s the kind of person we need leading our firm and advocating for architects in our community. We are lucky to have him and thankful for the gifts he brings to our office.

Congratulations Anders!
